Great authentic Sichuan Chinese cuisine. Before I moved here, I would go there every time I visit Atlanta. Sometimes the boss will give you some pressure to order more food, that's the only reason why I don't give five star.

The worst ppl I've ever seen in any Chinese restaurant. There was a bald guy wearing glasses (I guess it's boss) always push me to order more dishes even we only have 2 ppl. Here is the worst thing happened at very end, he didn't realize that we can understand Cantonese because we are mandarin speaker. He used cantonese asking the waitress to check if we have tipped them right in front of us. OMG! I was shocked at that moment. That's such a rude behavior I've ever seen in my entire life before. Yes, he could definitely ask about it after we left. He thought we don't speak Cantonese, is that mean he can speak whatever he want right in front of us? I can speak Spanish (i guess he doesnt) so If want to say vete a la mierda in front of him, is that appropriate manner? No, no one would do that for sure. Such a stupid boss!

Don't bother eating here unless you are Chinese. They clearly cater to their Chinese clientele. They have 2 menus and if you order off the American Chinese menu, you will no be happy. We went with our kids who like only 2 items so we ordered General Tso's chicken and Sesame chicken. Not only were they the same exact dish with the same sauce but it was sweet and sour chicken - not General Tso's or Sesame! Anyone who has eaten Chinese food knows what sweet and sour chicken tastes like but the manager tried his best to tell us we were wrong. Unbelievable! Not worth it when there are so many other choices in the area.

We came here to celebrate a belated birthday for a friend, and we were all in the mood for some spicy Sichuanese food. The owner (manager?) came over and was very friendly, putting some pickled veggies on the table. We ordered their lazi ji (spicy chicken bits), ziran yangrou (cumin lamb), zhong jiao (zhong dumplings), huiguo rou (twice-cooked pork) and qingchao kongxincai (water spinach sauteed with garlic).I spent 5 weeks in Sichuan province, and have been to a dozen Sichuan/Hunan/Yunnan restaurants stateside. Sichuanese food is spicy--vomit up blood spicy if you read the recent news story indicating spicy foods to 15% of all Sichuan hospital visits related to stomach ailments. The food we had was not nearly spicy enough to be authentically Sichuanese spicy. It was toned down: almost no chili bean paste in the huiguo rou, about half the chilies I'd expect in the lazi ji (they gave a Chinese table nearby the full amount, we noticed), and very little chili flake in the ziran yangrou. Sichuan peppercorn was nowhere to be found, either. The flavors were all great, but this was disappointing. When we mentioned it to the owner, he got defensive and said that Sichuanese food isn't all about spicy. That's true, but spicy wasn't even on our table here, and he clearly made the food spicier for his Chinese clientele. The kongxincai was delicious.I also felt it was overpriced for the portion size on some of the dishes (specifically, the lamb and dumplings) and the aging decor, but that's par for the course with Sichuanese places in Atlanta, so I didn't alter my stars for it. I really hope a new Sichuan or Hunan (please gods, give me Hunan food!) restaurant opens up to give them a run for their money.

I ordered off the "traditional" rather than the American" menu hoping for a special experience. I had the triple seafood with sizzling rice. It was average. I also tried a friend's pulled Pork dish. It was better, more flavorful. The waitress neglected to tell us the evening's specials. (They were posted at the door, but only in Chinese.) May be worth a return trip based on previous reviews + the fact that most of the other diners were Oriental

To truly experience authentic sichuan food, Sichuan House has to be the best I've had in GA. I used to reside in Johns Creek and I would frequent Sichuan House not only because it was a 5 minute drive, but also because the food here is great. I didn't realize this place has the best sichuan food until I moved to midtown.I've been to many restaurants in buford highway area and nothing comes close to this sichuan sanctuary.I hate driving, anything over 15 minutes is too much effort for me, but I will spend 30-40 minutes driving back to Johns Creek to indulge in the "seabass", "water cooked beef/fish", "tofu beef/fish", "twice cooked pork", and the many other selections in a heartbeat.

I was here in June 2011.This is non-americanized Chinese food restaurant. You won't find beef and broccoli or happy family on the menu.I went with my asian friend and she did the ordering: A fish dish - sea bass I think - it was very good. Fish in kind of a soup/broth. The other dish was pork and stuff. It was good. The dishes at this restaurant tend to be on the spicy side - not too much spice (for me) but the spice is there. The hot and sour soup was not to my liking at all - but then I learnt that nobody in China eats this soup anyway - except the street urchins. My friend ordered in Chinese - BUT - the server spoke in Chinese and then told me in english what was going on. Now that was a pleasant first - usually I'm kept in the dark with all the foreign language exchanges. My friend also mentioned that this place is expensive for chinese cuisine BUT it really isn't compared to most other restaurants. The food is pretty darn good and the service is good.

It is so nice to be able to eat traditional Chinese food in Duluth! I am American, but I do not like the typical Chinese/American restaurant. Sichuan house is great because it caters to both American and traditional. The food quality is excellent. The staff is nice and helpful. There are daily specials to choose from. When you sit down they serve you a little plate of yummy veggies. Today we ate cumin lamb with broccoli and eggplant with a spicy garlic sauce. They were both delicious. I have a small toddler and when ordering, the man helping us was considerate of her as well. He suggested steamed dumplings and she ate three! The food was so satisfying. I look forward to my next visit.

The food is not bad, at least better than what I could do. But I think the restaurant in US need to upgrade their menu, make more delicious food as in China. Here are some links of restaurants that I used to go in Shanghai. I work in the industry and fully realize that anywhere can have a bad night in terms of service or food quality, but what happened to me last night waiting on my take out was in excusable and I will not be back. I ordered a cold dan dan noodle salad. While I was waiting on it, the front of house began interrogating me. He asked how I knew about it. I told him that I had eaten Sichuan many times before and believed it to be a wonderful cuisine. He immediately demanded to know where. Not wanting to answer such a question I just said many places. He persisted till I said Gu's and a few other places. he immediately launched into a tirade about how Gu used to work there and he fired him. He then said that Gu's dan dan was overpriced and that he was sure that Gu's would go out of business very soon. This experience marks the first time in my life a front of house has ruined a meal for me while I was waiting for takeout. As a side note, the noodles were not great either. I tried several bites but I just couldn't eat them. They were very one note. A complete absence of nuanced flavors that make Sichuan what it is. I just can't bring myself to give this place another try.

You also have the option of family style dining. It is worth a visit with a lot of friends to experience this culinary tradition.?
